An immediate opening is available for a Pharmacist in Charge at a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital in Georgetown, DE. This role offers an opportunity to provide both pharmacy leadership and hands-on pharmacist staffing to a dedicated team. The position requires someone who can start promptly and is committed to delivering exceptional pharmacy services in a rehab care environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy operating hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage may be required
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, providing leadership and oversight
- Staff the pharmacy as a working pharmacist during regular hours
- Supervise pharmacy technicians (1 tech per shift)
- Manage pharmacy operations using Wellsky pharmacy information system
- Utilize Pyxis automation technology
- Perform IV compounding (non-chemotherapy)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safe medication practices
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with the ability to serve as Pharmacist in Charge
- Experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, specifically Wellsky, is a plus
- Familiarity with Pyxis automation system
- Skilled in IV compounding procedures
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
This contract position offers a pivotal role in a supportive rehab hospital pharmacy team, including 1 pharmacist and 2 technicians (full-time and PRN). Candidates must be available to assume leadership and operational responsibilities immediately, contributing to quality patient care.
