An opportunity is available for a dedicated Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge to lead pharmacy operations within a closed-door LTC facility. This role demands a reliable and strong leader to manage a busy pharmacy handling approximately 600 prescriptions daily, with an emphasis on consistent attendance and dependable performance.

Location: Georgetown, Kentucky
Job Type: Direct Hire
Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, Day Shift
  • Evening and weekend coverage only if needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing and patient counseling
  • Maintain accurate records of pharmacy transactions and inventory, including controlled substance management
  • Develop and implement policies to promote safe and efficient pharmacy practices
  • Provide leadership, training, and ongoing evaluation of pharmacy staff, fostering a positive team environment
  • Manage inventory by collaborating with the inventory manager to balance adequate stock with minimizing waste
  • Work closely with healthcare providers and insurers to resolve medication-related issues
  • Address customer concerns promptly, delivering excellent service
  • Stay current on pharmacy industry trends, medications, and regulatory requirements, implementing necessary changes
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and safety
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy
  • Recent management experience in pharmacy, preferably within LTC settings
  • Familiarity with Frameworks software preferred; training available
