A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations within a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) facility. This position requires a dependable professional with strong management skills and a commitment to ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, Day Shift
  • Evening and weekend coverage on an as-needed basis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and provision of patient care services.
  • Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to support safe and efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, promoting a positive work environment and ongoing performance development.
  • Oversee inventory management to maintain appropriate medication stock levels while reducing waste.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other partners to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring high-quality service and timely resolution.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes, implementing necessary updates to policies and practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address compliance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license required.
  • 2-4 years of LTC pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Recent experience in pharmacy management, preferably within LTC environments.
  • Strong reliability and attendance are critical for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with Frameworks software is a plus; training will be provided.
