A newly established independent retail pharmacy in Hattiesburg, MS, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to lead their operations as soon as possible. This is a critical role where the pharmacy cannot open without a licensed PIC, and urgent staffing is essential to resume services and prevent operational losses.

This opportunity allows for flexibility, with considerations for both local candidates or those willing to travel. Part-time candidates who can commit to at least 20 hours per week are welcome, though full-time availability is preferred to meet the pharmacy’s needs.

Location: Hattiesburg, MS
Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily retail pharmacy operations and ensure smooth workflow
  • Serve as the official Pharmacist In Charge in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage and review prescriptions accurately, including handling controlled substances
  • Ensure strict compliance with state pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with a skilled pharmacy technician to support patient care and efficiency
  • Support a pain management clinic servicing approximately 140 patients daily

Qualifications:

  • Active Mississippi Pharmacist License essential
  • Comfortable managing pain medications and associated regulatory protocols
  • Professional, friendly, and reliable demeanor critical for this role
  • Management experience is not required; strong leadership qualities preferred
