A newly established independent retail pharmacy in Hattiesburg, MS, is seeking a qualified Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to lead operations and ensure a smooth opening. This position is critical, as the pharmacy cannot open without a licensed PIC on-site and needs immediate support to start serving the community.

This opportunity is flexible, accommodating candidates interested in local or travel positions. Both part-time and full-time availability are welcomed, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week considered. The pharmacy uses the DRX system and processes approximately 1,500 to 2,000 prescriptions monthly. You will be supported by a skilled pharmacy technician, with plans to expand the team as the business grows.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily retail pharmacy operations and serve as the Pharmacist In Charge
  • Manage prescription review and fulfillment processes
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Maintain efficient workflow to support optimal patient care
  • Collaborate closely with a pain clinic treating about 140 patients daily

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Mississippi Pharmacist License required
  • Comfortable managing pain medications and supporting a high-volume pain clinic
  • Management experience is not mandatory but professionalism and reliability are essential
  • Friendly demeanor with strong communication skills
