A newly established independent retail pharmacy in Hattiesburg, MS, is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to manage pharmacy operations and ensure compliance. This role is critical to the pharmacy’s opening and ongoing success, with an immediate start needed. The pharmacy dispenses approximately 1,500–2,000 prescriptions monthly and uses the DRX system. This opportunity offers flexibility with local or travel candidates welcome, and part-time (minimum 20 hours) or full-time schedules considered.

Location: Hattiesburg, MS
Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, overseeing all aspects of retail pharmacy operations
  • Manage and review prescriptions accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Support smooth and efficient workflow alongside a dedicated pharmacy technician
  • Assist in providing high-quality patient care, including support for an affiliated pain clinic with approximately 140 patients daily

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Mississippi Pharmacist License (license will be on the pharmacy)
  • Experience comfortable handling pain medications and supporting pain clinic patients
  • Strong professional, friendly, and reliable demeanor
  • Pharmacy management experience is not required

Additional Details:

  • The pharmacy has one experienced pharmacy technician on-site, with plans to expand staff as operations grow
  • Immediate availability is essential, as the pharmacy cannot open without a PIC and is currently losing revenue
