This opportunity is designed for an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to manage pharmacy operations within a psychiatric facility. The role involves supervising daily activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting pharmacy staff in delivering safe and efficient medication services. The setting is a mid-sized hospital with a licensed bed capacity of 128 and an average daily census of 103 patients, offering a focused environment for expert pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of pharmacy staffing, including coordination of 2 technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists
- Managing medication order entry using the HCS system (training provided)
- Providing weekend and on-call coverage as needed to maintain continuous pharmacy operations
- Ensuring compliance with Texas pharmacy regulations and facility policies
- Supporting pharmacy staff performance and workflow in a psychiatric care setting
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Texas Pharmacist license (required)
- Experience in pharmacy management or as a pharmacist in charge preferred
- Ability to adapt to psychiatric specialty pharmacy operations
- Proficiency or ability to learn the HCS order entry system
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Schedule and Location:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Occasional weekend shifts from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM and on-call coverage as needed
- Position located in Houston, Texas
Duration and Employment Type:
