Soliant has an opening for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge at a psychiatric hospital in Houston, Texas, for an 8- to 12-week contract starting as soon as possible. This is a Monday through Friday day-shift role at a well-established inpatient psychiatric facility with a small, supportive pharmacy team in place. Weekend coverage may be needed if per diem pharmacists are unavailable, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Facility Overview

This is a 128-bed licensed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Houston, Texas, with an average daily census of 103 patients. The pharmacy team consists of 2 pharmacy technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists. Technicians provide distribution support. The pharmacist will serve as Pharmacist in Charge and provide primary pharmacist coverage Monday through Friday, with PRN support available as needed.

System: HCS order entry system, training provided on site, no prior HCS experience required

Responsibilities

Serve as Pharmacist in Charge and primary pharmacist coverage for the facility.
Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently using HCS, training provided
Supervise and support pharmacy technician staff throughout the shift
Oversee daily pharmacy staffing and operations
Ensure safe medication dispensing and full regulatory compliance throughout all operations.s
Provide on-call coverage when needed to address any coverage gaps
Collaborate with psychiatric care team on medication therapy and patient care needs

Experience

Pharmacist in Charge or pharmacy leadership experience preferred
Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
Behavioral health or psychiatric pharmacy experience a strong plus
Comfortable serving as sole pharmacist coverage with technician support
HCS experience helpful but not required; training will be provided on-site

Skills

Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
Comfortable leading in a smaller pharmacy team environment
Reliable and steady in a behavioral health inpatient setting
Effective communicator with psychiatric care team members
Flexible and responsive for on-call and weekend coverage needs as they arise
