A well-established closed-door mail order pharmacy is seeking a multi-licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to join their experienced team. This part-time role offers a consistent schedule, working Tuesdays and Thursdays with potential for an additional day. The pharmacy prides itself on a strong, collaborative environment with six skilled pharmacy technicians and several pharmacists and PICs supporting operations.

Location: Gaithersburg, MD (closed-door mail order pharmacy)

Schedule & Hours:

  • Part-Time, 16-24 hours per week
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7 AM to 3 PM
  • Potential for a third day in the future

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily pharmacy operations as the PIC, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to maintain efficient and accurate dispensing of medications.
  • Review, verify, and approve prescriptions to guarantee safe and appropriate therapy, especially for long-term care patients.
  • Oversee quality assurance programs, controlled substance compliance, and policy implementation within the pharmacy.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, nursing teams, and facility staff to optimize patient care and timely medication delivery.
  • Assist with sterile compounding and clean room operations if experienced and comfortable.

Qualifications:

  • Active Maryland Pharmacist License plus any combination of AL, AR, CA, LA, NE, OK, OR, TX licenses; candidates missing a few but holding most will still be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy settings.
  • Sterile compounding experience is a plus but not required.
  • Immediate availability to start.
