Step into a critical leadership role as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a specialized, closed-door pharmacy embedded within a behavioral health hospital setting. This contract-to-hire position, located in Wichita Falls, TX, offers an opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations that uniquely focus on behavioral health medications, supporting the hospital’s medication needs with precision and care.

This Integrated Pharmacy operates independently from the clinic, yet it remains fully contracted to the hospital. The workflow model is similar to long-term care pharmacies, combining walk-in clinic support with outbound prescription fulfillment. The pharmacy dispenses around 350-400 scripts daily and employs automation to maintain efficiency without administering vaccines.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading pharmacy operations as the PIC, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Managing workflow and medication dispensation specific to behavioral health requirements
  • Supervising pharmacy staff, including one staff pharmacist and four pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborating with hospital stakeholders to coordinate medication needs
  • Maintaining quality assurance and safety protocols in a closed-door environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed in Texas (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of PIC or pharmacy management experience
  • At least 2 years of pharmacist experience (retail pharmacy experience accepted)
  • Proficient in Enterprise RX software

This role is urgent, as the current PIC is transitioning to a new position, with the last working day on March 6th. Immediate availability is highly preferred.
