Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Irving, Texas

This opportunity seeks a Pharmacist in Charge to manage prescription verification and patient communication at a high-volume pharmacy serving Irving, Texas. The position is part-time, offering approximately 20 hours per week with a 13-week assignment starting ASAP, ideally by August 12th. Candidates should be flexible with shift availability, primarily on the 1st shift but open to day or mid shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately verify prescriptions ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulations
• Handle inbound calls from patients and physician offices concerning medication-related inquiries
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain smooth operational flow in a fast-paced environment processing 1,000 to 1,500 prescriptions daily
• Utilize DRx pharmacy software effectively for daily tasks and record keeping

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist licensure in Alabama or Texas is required; candidates with licenses in Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee, or Oklahoma are also encouraged to apply
• Additional licensure in Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland, Louisiana, Mississippi, West Virginia, Kansas, Kentucky, or Nebraska is a plus
• Solid understanding of retail pharmacy operations, high-volume prescription processing, and medication safety
• Excellent communication skills for patient and healthcare professional interactions
• Prior experience verifying prescriptions and managing pharmacy communications preferred
