A 50-bed rehabilitation hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a licensed pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) on a 13-week contract assignment. This role also includes Interim Director of Pharmacy (DOP) responsibilities, focusing on pharmacy operations without requiring an extensive leadership background—ideal for a pharmacist ready to step into PIC duties.

Location: Jacksonville, FL
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts
Duration: 13 weeks, starting ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to protocols.
  • Provide pharmaceutical consultation to nurses and physicians, enhancing patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies related to pharmacy operations.
  • Manage daily pharmacy operations as the Interim PIC/DOP.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Florida pharmacist license.
  • Experience in a hospital setting is highly preferred to ensure familiarity with inpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage pharmacy staff and collaborate with healthcare teams.
  • Willingness to assume the responsibilities of PIC and DOP roles.
