An expanding healthcare organization is seeking a seasoned Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to spearhead the launch and daily operations of a new outpatient community pharmacy in the Newark, NJ area. This full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity offers a pivotal leadership role overseeing pharmacy functions and fostering a high-performing team from the ground up.
Location: Newark, NJ
Schedule:
- Monday through Saturday
- Daytime operating hours
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize daily pharmacy operations and workflow
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory pharmacy standards
- Supervise, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff to enhance performance
- Oversee inventory management and maintain quality assurance programs
- Provide clinical oversight and deliver patient counseling services
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and organizational leadership
- Support the successful launch and growth of the pharmacy
Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey Pharmacist license required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist-in-Charge
- Proven background in community pharmacy settings
- Demonstrated ability to lead pharmacy operations and teams
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems such as PrimeRx or MicroMerchant advantageous
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
