Pharmacist in Charge in Katy, TX

This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacist in Charge at a psychiatric care facility with a 128-licensed bed capacity and an average daily census of 103. This contract role requires a Texas Pharmacist license and offers a dynamic environment to oversee pharmacy operations in a specialized mental health setting. The position supports a small team including two pharmacy technicians and three PRN pharmacists, ensuring quality pharmaceutical services.

Location:

• Katy, TX

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Possible weekend coverage 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM (as needed)
• On-call coverage for potential staffing gaps

Duration:

• 8 to 12 weeks starting ASAP

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Texas Pharmacist licensure (required)
• Experience in pharmacy management and staff coordination
• Ability to work in a psychiatric specialty environment
• Proficiency or willingness to learn HCS order entry system
• Strong organizational and leadership skills

Responsibilities:

• Oversee pharmacy staffing and ensure coverage
• Coordinate with pharmacy technicians and PRN pharmacists to support workflow
• Manage pharmaceutical services within the psychiatric care setting
• Provide support with order entry utilizing the HCS system (training provided)
• Engage in weekend or on-call shifts as necessary to maintain service continuity
