Per Diem Pharmacist in Charge in Katy, TX

A specialized opportunity is available for a pharmacist ready to take on the role of Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a closed-door specialty compounding pharmacy focused on holistic health and wellness. This per diem position requires presence on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, providing flexibility within the workweek. The pharmacy operates with a moderate prescription volume of 80-125 scripts daily, using PK Software to manage its workflow.

This is an ideal role for a pharmacist comfortable independently managing pharmacy operations, supported by one pharmacy technician with plans to expand the support team. The pharmacy specializes in non-sterile compounding—preparing creams, capsules, and powders—and caters to cash-paying patients, primarily dispensing medications such as testosterone, hormones, metformin, and phentermine. There is no involvement with insurance processing or sterile compounding responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring smooth daily operations
• Accurately type and verify prescriptions
• Perform basic non-sterile compounding of medications
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to fulfill medication orders

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience
• Familiarity or comfort with non-sterile compounding preferred, though not mandatory
• Ability to function independently as the sole pharmacist on site
