A 503A compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead and oversee both sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. This contract-to-hire position offers a 13-week assignment with the potential for permanent placement, providing a challenging leadership role within a highly regulated pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities include serving as the legally designated PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses, acting as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies including Boards of Pharmacy and FDA inspectors, and ensuring full compliance with state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP regulations. You will direct daily operations such as fulfillment, quality assurance, environmental monitoring, personnel training, and facility maintenance. Oversight of batch record management, production scheduling, and continuous quality improvement are key components of this role. Additionally, you will supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production personnel to maintain efficiency and regulatory adherence.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Flexible availability on Saturdays if needed
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager
- Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800> standards and other applicable regulations for 503A compounding
- Proven track record in leading audits and managing regulatory inspections
