An expanding specialty pharmacy organization is seeking a qualified Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the establishment of a new closed-door pharmacy operation in Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique leadership opportunity to shape pharmacy operations from inception through licensure, inspection readiness, and full launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance
- Lead pharmacy licensing, regulatory submissions, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy inspections
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including DEA requirements
- Support operational design including workflow development, compliance frameworks, and quality systems
- Oversee dispensing operations post-launch to ensure accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence
- Maintain audit readiness and serve as primary liaison during regulatory inspections
- Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to drive successful pharmacy launch and scale
- Potential involvement with multi-state licensing as organization expands
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
- Experience in a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) or pharmacy leadership role strongly preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy environments preferred
- Familiarity with state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups highly desirable
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
