An established specialty pharmacy organization is seeking a skilled Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy in Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique chance to guide pharmacy operations from licensing and startup through to full operational launch, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance
- Lead pharmacy licensing efforts, regulatory submissions, and Board of Pharmacy inspection preparedness
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA regulations
- Support operational setup with workflow design, compliance structures, and quality systems
- Oversee dispensing accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence post-launch
- Maintain audit readiness and liaise with regulatory inspectors
- Collaborate with leadership to facilitate a successful pharmacy launch and future expansion
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
- Previous experience as a PIC or in pharmacy leadership roles preferred
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, compliance, and state/federal regulations
- Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacies is a plus
- Experience with audits, inspections, or startup environments highly desirable
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
Important Information:
- Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy requires a licensed pharmacist physically present during all open hours post-launch. Candidates must be aware of and prepared for this on-site responsibility.
- Two tracks are available:
- Track 1: Remote PIC for licensing and startup, transitioning to on-site role post-launch (relocation optional but preferred)
- Track 2: Permanent on-site PIC starting at or before October 2026 launch (relocation assistance offered)
