A specialty pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy operation in Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique chance to take a leadership position in a start-up environment by guiding pharmacy operations from initial licensure through inspection readiness and full operational launch.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to maintain Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Lead pharmacy licensing efforts, regulatory submissions, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy inspections
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations, including DEA requirements
  • Support operational setup such as workflow design, compliance structures, and quality systems
  • Oversee pharmacy operations after launch, ensuring dispensing accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence
  • Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison during regulatory inspections
  • Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to enable a successful pharmacy launch and scaling efforts
  • Potentially assist with licensing across multiple states as the organization expands

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
  • Prior experience as a PIC or in a pharmacy leadership role strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements
  • Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred
  • Familiarity with state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups highly desirable
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
