Pharmacist in Charge - Lebanon, PA

A specialty pharmacy organization is initiating a new closed-door pharmacy in Pennsylvania and seeks a skilled Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead this launch. This role offers a distinctive leadership opportunity to shape pharmacy operations from the licensing phase through inspection readiness and full operational launch. The PIC ensures all regulatory and operational standards meet Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy requirements, including being physically present on-site once the pharmacy is dispensing.

Two recruitment tracks are available:

Track 1 – Remote PIC (Licensing & Startup)

• Lead licensing and startup activities remotely.
• Serve as PIC on PA Board of Pharmacy application.
• Assist with DEA registration, SOP development, and inspection preparation.
• Attend Board inspection on-site.
• Ideal candidate will relocate and transition into full-time on-site PIC post-launch; upfront relocation preference disclosure is important.

Track 2 – Permanent On-Site PIC

• Full-time, on-site PIC starting around or before October 2026 pharmacy launch.
• Relocation assistance available.

Location: Lancaster, PA

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for licensing and ongoing compliance.
• Lead preparation for Board of Pharmacy and DEA inspections.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies.
• Ensure strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Oversee pharmacy operations post-launch covering dispensing accuracy and safety.
• Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison during inspections.
• Collaborate with leadership to support pharmacy launch and expansion plans.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required).
• Previous PIC or pharmacy leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise in pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacies desirable.
• Proven experience managing audits, inspections, or startups.
• Strong regulatory knowledge of Board of Pharmacy and DEA standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
