A Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge is needed at a closed-door LTC facility in Lexington, KY. This direct hire role demands a dependable professional with strong leadership skills and a solid background in pharmacy management. Attendance and reliability are critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure safe, efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to pharmacy staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Manage medication inventory with the inventory manager, balancing adequate supply with waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to address medication-related issues.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, medications, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives for enhanced operational efficiency and patient care.
  • Conduct regular audits and maintain safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
  • 2-4 years of long-term care pharmacy experience.
  • Recent management experience in pharmacy, preferably in LTC settings.
  • Strong emphasis on punctuality and attendance reliability.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, Day Shift.
  • Evening and weekend coverage as needed.

Additional Information:

  • Facility uses Frameworks software; training available.
  • Average volume is approximately 600 prescriptions per day.
