A healthcare facility in Lexington, KY is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to lead its long-term care (LTC) pharmacy operations. This direct hire opportunity requires a highly reliable professional ready to take ownership of pharmacy compliance, staff management, and patient care in a closed-door LTC setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including dispensing, medication counseling, and patient services.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy practices.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for pharmacy staff.
- Manage inventory levels through oversight of inventory personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance partners to resolve medication-related issues.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits for compliance and safety.
- Ensure a clean, safe work environment following infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active and clear KY Pharmacist License.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy.
- Demonstrated recent management experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in LTC.
- Strong reliability and attendance are critical to success in this role.
- Proficiency or willingness to be trained in Frameworks software.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts.
- Evening or weekend coverage may be required occasionally.
