A healthcare facility in Lexington, KY is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to lead its long-term care (LTC) pharmacy operations. This direct hire opportunity requires a highly reliable professional ready to take ownership of pharmacy compliance, staff management, and patient care in a closed-door LTC setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations including dispensing, medication counseling, and patient services.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy practices.
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for pharmacy staff.
  • Manage inventory levels through oversight of inventory personnel.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance partners to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits for compliance and safety.
  • Ensure a clean, safe work environment following infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Active and clear KY Pharmacist License.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated recent management experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in LTC.
  • Strong reliability and attendance are critical to success in this role.
  • Proficiency or willingness to be trained in Frameworks software.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day shifts.
  • Evening or weekend coverage may be required occasionally.
