This position offers the opportunity to lead as a Pharmacist in Charge within a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy setting. Located in Lexington, Kentucky, this direct hire role calls for a dedicated pharmacy professional ready to step into a pivotal leadership role. The facility processes approximately 600 prescriptions daily and uses Frameworks software, with training available for candidates new to this system.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy. This includes managing prescription dispensing, patient counseling, record-keeping, and inventory control with a focus on minimizing waste. The PIC will play a vital role in guiding and supporting pharmacy staff through training and performance feedback, fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Collaborating with healthcare providers and addressing medication-related issues are also essential components of the role. Regular audits and quality improvement initiatives will drive continuous enhancements in compliance and patient care outcomes.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift
- Evening and weekend coverage only if needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license
- 2 to 4 years of Long-Term Care pharmacy experience
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in LTC
- Strong emphasis on reliability and attendance is critical
