A leadership opportunity is available for a dedicated Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations at a closed-door LTC facility in Lexington, Kentucky. This direct hire role demands a dependable professional ready to ensure regulatory compliance, enhance patient care, and support pharmacy staff in a fast-paced environment managing around 600 prescriptions daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage daily pharmacy operations, including prescription dispensing and medication counseling.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate pharmacy records, including inventory and controlled substances.
  • Develop and implement policies to promote safety and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate pharmacy personnel, fostering a supportive workplace culture.
  • Oversee inventory management to balance adequate stock with minimal waste.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance representatives to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and prompt resolution.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new drugs, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
  • Drive quality improvement projects to optimize patient outcomes and workflow.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to enforce safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Long-Term Care pharmacy settings.
  • Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in LTC.
  • Strong reliability and attendance record essential.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems; training provided for Frameworks software.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, primarily day shifts.
  • Evening and weekend coverage as needed.
