A leadership role is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) pharmacy specializing in medication services for approximately 600 prescriptions daily. This direct hire position requires a reliable professional with strong attendance and management skills to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including prescription dispensing and patient counseling, while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop and implement policies to optimize pharmacy performance and safety.
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff by providing coaching, evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Manage medication inventory with the inventory manager to balance supply and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly, delivering excellent service.
  • Stay current on industry regulations, medications, and best practices to guide process improvements.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace in line with infection control standards.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of LTC pharmacy experience.
  • Recent experience managing pharmacy operations, ideally within LTC settings.
  • Strong commitment to attendance and reliability.
  • Familiarity with Frameworks software preferred; training available.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
  • Evening and weekend shifts only if necessary.
