A leadership role is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) pharmacy specializing in medication services for approximately 600 prescriptions daily. This direct hire position requires a reliable professional with strong attendance and management skills to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including prescription dispensing and patient counseling, while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies to optimize pharmacy performance and safety.
- Lead and support pharmacy staff by providing coaching, evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Manage medication inventory with the inventory manager to balance supply and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly, delivering excellent service.
- Stay current on industry regulations, medications, and best practices to guide process improvements.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace in line with infection control standards.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
- Minimum 2-4 years of LTC pharmacy experience.
- Recent experience managing pharmacy operations, ideally within LTC settings.
- Strong commitment to attendance and reliability.
- Familiarity with Frameworks software preferred; training available.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
- Evening and weekend shifts only if necessary.
