An established specialty pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy operation in Pennsylvania. This full-time, onsite role based in Lancaster, PA, offers a unique opportunity to guide pharmacy operations from initial licensure and inspection readiness to full operational launch. The position is temp-to-hire with a targeted start date in mid-June.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as PIC for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure, compliance, and ongoing regulatory adherence
- Lead licensing processes, regulatory submissions, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy inspections
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including DEA requirements
- Support operational setup including workflow design, compliance frameworks, and quality systems
- Oversee post-launch pharmacy operations ensuring dispensing accuracy and safety
- Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison during regulatory inspections
- Collaborate with leadership to support launch and future scaling, potentially assisting with multi-state licensing
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
- Prior experience as a PIC or in pharmacy leadership roles strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
- Experience with audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups is highly desirable
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
