A well-established compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee regulatory, compliance, and quality operations at their onsite facility in Ohio. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead critical functions including multi-state licensure management and regulatory inspections while contributing to a top-tier Quality Management System (QMS). Candidates willing to relocate or travel may be considered for temporary-to-permanent options, with relocation assistance available.
Location:
- Onsite in Albany, Ohio
- Monday through Friday schedule
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as PIC for Ohio and additional non-resident state licenses as needed
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Boards of Pharmacy, and Section 503B regulations
- Lead and represent the facility during Board of Pharmacy, FDA, and DEA inspections
- Develop, review, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training programs
- Oversee quality assurance and control functions such as batch record reviews, deviation investigations, and environmental monitoring
- Manage validation activities and maintain the QMS
- Review change controls, product labeling, and annual product reviews
- Oversee vendor qualification, incoming materials, and reserve sample programs
- Present quality metrics to site and corporate leadership
Qualifications:
- Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in pharmacy management
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA, DEA regulations, sterile injectable manufacturing, and non-sterile compounding
- Proven ability to lead regulatory inspections and audits
- Effective communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Licensure in multiple states preferred
Preferred Experience:
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries
- 7+ years in progressively responsible quality or compliance roles
