A dynamic opportunity exists for a pharmacy professional to assume a leadership role within an animal health compounding pharmacy. This full-time, onsite position offers the chance to supervise and guide a team of pharmacists focused on delivering exceptional compounded preparations in a specialized setting. The role emphasizes operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.

Location: Bakersfield, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–5:15 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
  • Establish and uphold productivity and quality benchmarks within the compounding lab
  • Oversee daily compounding operations to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to protocols
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, along with all relevant state and federal regulations
  • Maintain comprehensive training records and verify adherence to compounding procedures
  • Support selection of appropriate drugs for dispensing and compounded formulations
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and formulation innovation
  • Collaborate effectively with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Uphold confidentiality and organizational policies rigorously

Qualifications:

  • Active California Pharmacist license in good standing
  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a pharmacy lab environment
  • 2–5 years of hands-on compounding expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
