A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available at an Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This contract role spans one year with the possibility of extension or transition to direct hire. The position is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with pharmacy leadership experience, who is comfortable overseeing operations and ensuring regulatory compliance in a specialized treatment environment.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
- 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- 20 hours per week
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, managing daily pharmacy operations
- Perform detailed chart reviews and maintain accurate records
- Verify prescriptions and fill in as needed when technician support is unavailable
- Complete internal reports and forms primarily using Microsoft Excel
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Operate independently with minimal supervision
- Limited direct patient interaction unless specifically requested
- No billing or insurance responsibilities
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing, with no negative history
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience
- Experience with substance abuse or opioid treatment preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong ability to work independently and make sound decisions
