A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available within a specialized Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role offers a one-year contract with the potential for extension or transition to direct hire, providing stability and growth potential within a focused healthcare environment.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
- 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- 20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations.
- Conduct thorough chart reviews while ensuring precise and detailed documentation.
- Verify prescriptions to maintain patient safety.
- Fill prescriptions in the absence of pharmacy technicians.
- Prepare and complete internal pharmacy reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Operate independently, particularly when technician support is unavailable.
- Engage with patients only upon request, with no billing or insurance processing duties.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history.
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience.
- Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
