An interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available to provide essential leadership and pharmacy services at a micro-hospital setting in Menomonee Falls, WI. This role involves full accountability for pharmacy operations, requiring a skilled pharmacist with inpatient experience and Wisconsin state licensure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations independently
  • Manage inpatient medication distribution and audit processes
  • Perform order entry using the Epic system and manage automated medication dispensing with Omnicell
  • Restock medications and supplies for a 7-bed emergency department and 8-bed inpatient micro-hospital
  • Handle on-call responsibilities as the sole pharmacy staff member on-site
  • Provide oversight to maintain compliance and address previous controlled substance diversion concerns
  • Collaborate remotely with the local PIC and Pharmacy Director for training and guidance

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Wisconsin pharmacist license required
  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience critical for success in this micro-hospital environment
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred
  • Ability to independently manage all PIC duties, audits, and medication management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to regulatory compliance and patient safety

Schedule:

  • Day shift, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • No weekend shifts required

This contract role offers the opportunity to lead pharmacy services in a unique small-hospital setting, supporting critical patient care while maintaining high professional standards. Remote training will be provided to ensure smooth integration into the PIC responsibilities.
