An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge to provide leadership and pharmacy services at a micro-hospital setting in Menomonee Falls, WI. This contract position offers the chance to manage daily pharmacy operations in a 7-bed emergency department and an 8-bed inpatient unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing all pharmacy functions independently
  • Perform daily staff pharmacist duties including order verification and medication dispensing
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance and address any diversion concerns
  • Manage restocking and inventory control utilizing Omnicell automation
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support pharmacy operations outside regular hours
  • Collaborate with remote Pharmacy Director and local PIC through provided training and ongoing communication

Qualifications:

  • Current Wisconsin pharmacist licensure is mandatory
  • Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
  • Strong knowledge of Epic order entry system and automated dispensing technologies
  • Ability to work independently in a single-pharmacist environment
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance and patient safety in challenging settings

Schedule:

  • Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
  • No weekend hours required

This role requires immediate availability for coverage extending approximately 2 to 3 months. Candidates should be prepared to assume full PIC responsibilities in a small, specialized hospital environment with a history of controlled substance diversion issues.
