A specialized Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) opportunity is available to take a leadership role in overseeing regulatory, operational, and quality assurance functions for a 503A compounding pharmacy. This position is based in Chandler, AZ, supporting the transition and decommissioning of an existing facility. The role is offered on a contract basis with the potential for permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated PIC in Arizona and hold applicable non-resident state licenses
- Maintain active pharmacist licensure in Arizona plus required states: AL, AK, AR, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MS, NE, NV, OH, OK, OR, TN, TX
- Ensure compliance with Arizona Board of Pharmacy rules, FDA, DEA, and USP <795>/<797> standards
- Lead regulatory inspections, audits, and represent the pharmacy during these processes
- Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and staff training initiatives
- Submit necessary reports for theft/loss and notify regulatory bodies about PIC changes, staffing, or operational hours
- Oversee licensure, accreditation, and maintain regulatory documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy
- Current pharmacist license in Arizona and additional states listed above
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience, particularly hosting inspections
- Solid understanding of compounding pharmacy operations and DEA regulatory requirements
Schedule & Location:
- Full-time day shifts with flexibility required
- Position located in Chandler, AZ, with preference for local candidates; however, remote licensed pharmacists may be considered
