Step into a pivotal leadership role as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a newly established sterile compounding pharmacy affiliated with a national telehealth pharmacy. Role Overview:
As the PIC, you will hold a critical position with your name listed on the pharmacy license. You will provide regulatory and compliance oversight, ensuring adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws. You will support the launch of sterile compounding operations, review policies and quality standards, and collaborate closely with the Director of Pharmacy Operations beginning early February. Additionally, your role involves providing pharmacist coverage during operational hours as needed.
About the Pharmacy:
This new pharmacy focuses primarily on GLP-1 medications, hormone replacement therapy—especially for female hormone medications—with potential future expansion into testosterone treatments. The pharmacy operates a small team of about five on-site employees, backed by extensive remote operational and clinical support. Having operated non-sterile compounding for the past year, the pharmacy is poised to launch its sterile compounding services imminently and is actively expanding.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida Pharmacist License required
- Multi-state licensure strongly preferred (ideally FL plus 3-4 from AK, IL, IA, KS, MI, NE, VA, TX, KY, WV)
- Prior experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager with full PIC responsibility
- Solid knowledge of pharmacy compliance and operations
- Experience with pharmacy start-ups and compounding (sterile or non-sterile) highly valued
- Retail pharmacy background acceptable
- Willingness to train on compounding processes if needed
