A contract opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge in a micro-hospital setting in Wisconsin. This role requires a pharmacist with inpatient experience and active Wisconsin licensure to oversee pharmacy operations within a small emergency department and inpatient unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, managing all pharmacy-related functions independently
  • Perform staff pharmacist duties including order verification and medication dispensing
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Manage restocking and inventory control to maintain seamless pharmacy operations
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required
  • Utilize the Epic order entry system and Omnicell automation for workflow management

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Wisconsin pharmacist license
  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Ability to manage pharmacy operations without additional pharmacy staff support
  • Familiarity with Epic pharmacy system and Omnicell automation preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards following previous site diversion issues

Schedule and Location:

  • Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, specifically within a small hospital setting
  • Day shift, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • No weekend coverage required, on-call duties included

Additional Information:

  • Remote training support will be provided by local Pharmacist in Charge and Pharmacy Director
  • The hospital has a 7-bed Emergency Department and an 8-bed inpatient unit
  • Sterile compounding is not part of this role

This contract assignment is slated to begin as soon as possible and is expected to last approximately 2-3 months. Candidates with the required skills and licensure who are ready to take on both clinical and leadership responsibilities in a standalone PIC role are encouraged to apply now.
