Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Milwaukee, Wisconsin

An opportunity is available for a licensed Wisconsin pharmacist to serve as an Interim Pharmacist in Charge at a micro-hospital facility specializing in emergency and inpatient care. This role requires an individual with solid inpatient experience ready to manage pharmacy operations and compliance within a focused clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee pharmacy operations as Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and hospital policies
• Perform staff pharmacist duties including order verification and medication management using the Epic order entry system
• Conduct audits and maintain accurate medication inventory; restock automated systems (Omnicell)
• Manage on-call pharmacy coverage as part of a solo pharmacist role, providing consistent clinical oversight and support
• Collaborate remotely with the Pharmacy Director and local PIC for ongoing training and operational guidance

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

• Active Wisconsin pharmacist licensure required
• Proven inpatient pharmacy experience, ideally within small or micro-hospital environments
• Ability to work independently without additional on-site pharmacy staff
• Familiarity with Epic and Omnicell systems preferred
• Strong attention to compliance, safety, and detail

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shifts
• 40 hours per week
• On-call duties included
• No weekend coverage required

This contract position offers an important leadership role with direct impact on a facility featuring a 7-bed emergency department and 8 inpatient beds. The assignment duration is approximately 2 to 3 months, starting as soon as possible.
