This role serves as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and Pharmacy Director at a 503A Compounding Pharmacy, responsible for leading the pharmacy’s operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient fulfillment of prescriptions and compounding activities. The PIC holds full regulatory accountability for state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP compliance, overseeing sterile and non-sterile compounding, quality assurance, personnel training, and facility readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the legally designated PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses unless otherwise assigned.
- Act as the primary liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure proper reporting of operational changes, ownership changes, facility modifications, or PIC transitions.
- Oversee both sterile and non-sterile compounding operations.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
- Manage daily batch record creation, execution, review, and approval.
- Support production scheduling to meet on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and capacity planning goals.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager.
- Expertise in USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable state and federal regulations related to 503A compounding operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading audits and managing regulatory inspections.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Flexible availability on Saturdays if required
