A highly responsible and proactive Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge position is available to lead all pharmacy operations at a closed-door LTC facility in the Lexington, Kentucky area. This direct hire role is ideal for an experienced leader with strong attention to detail and excellent reliability, especially in attendance, to ensure smooth daily operations in a high-volume setting dispensing approximately 600 prescriptions per day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy functions including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to safeguard safe pharmacy operations.
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to improve staff skills and service quality.
  • Manage medication inventory effectively through collaboration with the inventory manager to balance stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance partners, and address customer inquiries with exceptional service.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits for compliance and safety assurance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace with strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
  • 2-4 years of long-term care pharmacy experience.
  • Recent management experience in pharmacy, ideally within LTC.
  • Strong commitment to reliability and attendance.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
  • Evening and weekend coverage only if needed.

Familiarity with Frameworks software is preferred; training will be provided.
