A leadership opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy in Nicholasville, KY. This direct hire position seeks a highly dependable individual with recent management experience in LTC pharmacy who can ensure smooth, compliant operations in a high-volume environment dispensing approximately 600 prescriptions daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Supervise daily activities including prescription dispensing, patient counseling, and medication safety.
- Maintain accurate records of pharmacy transactions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for safety and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance evaluations to pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative work culture.
- Oversee inventory management to optimize medication availability and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to address medication-related issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly resolving inquiries and complaints.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory updates, implementing necessary changes.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular audits to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment following infection control standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Kentucky Pharmacist license.
- 2-4 years of Long-Term Care pharmacy experience.
- Recent management experience in pharmacy, preferably LTC.
- Strong reliability and excellent attendance are critical for success.
- Familiarity with Frameworks software is preferred; training will be provided.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift.
- Occasional evening or weekend coverage if needed.
