A long-term care pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge to lead and oversee daily pharmacy operations within a closed-door setting. This direct hire role demands a highly reliable individual with strong leadership skills to maintain compliance, ensure operational efficiency, and provide excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage daily pharmacy activities including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services.
  • Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures for safe, efficient operations.
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for pharmacy staff.
  • Oversee medication inventory, balancing adequate supply with waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related matters.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints, delivering high-quality service.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory updates; implement necessary changes.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment aligning with infection control standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
  • 2-4 years of long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience.
  • Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably within LTC.
  • Strong attendance and reliability are critical qualities for success in this position.
  • Familiarity with Frameworks software is a plus; training will be provided.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day shift.
  • Evening and weekend coverage only if needed.
