An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the daily operations of a 503A Compounding Pharmacy. This role holds full regulatory responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient fulfillment of prescriptions, including sterile and non-sterile compounding activities. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards, while overseeing personnel, quality assurance, and facility readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the legally designated PIC for multiple non-resident state pharmacy licenses.
  • Act as the primary liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Report operational, ownership, facility, or PIC changes promptly to appropriate authorities.
  • Oversee all sterile and non-sterile compounding operations.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
  • Manage batch record creation, execution, review, and approval processes.
  • Support production scheduling to meet delivery deadlines, maintain inventory accuracy, and plan capacity.

Qualifications:

  • Active PA Pharmacist License.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager.
  • Extensive knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and state/federal regulations related to 503A compounding.
  • Proven experience leading audits and managing regulatory inspections.

Location: Norristown, PA

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Flexible availability on Saturdays as needed.
