Pharmacist in Charge in Norristown, PA

A leading 503A Compounding Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director to oversee all aspects of sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. This role holds full regulatory accountability to ensure compliance with state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards while managing daily pharmacy operations with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the legally designated PIC for all applicable non-resident state pharmacy licenses
• Act as the primary liaison with Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory bodies
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of operational, ownership, facility, or PIC changes
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding processes, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and quality standards
• Lead quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff
• Manage batch record creation, review, and approval processes
• Coordinate production scheduling to meet delivery timelines and maintain inventory accuracy

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager in a compounding setting
• Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and related state and federal regulations for 503A pharmacies
• Proven experience in leading audits and regulatory inspections with successful outcomes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
• Flexibility to work Saturdays as needed

Assignment Details:

• Contract to hire
• Initial term: 13 weeks
• Location: Norristown, PA
