Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Pahokee, Florida

An immediate opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Director and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at an acute care facility in Clewiston, FL. This contract role requires strong pharmacy leadership to oversee inpatient pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead pharmacy services, including managing staff and workflow in a facility with ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units.
• Prepare the department for The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation.
• Ensure compliance with Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Oversee sterile compounding processes primarily supported by pharmacy technicians.
• Work within a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) using the CPSI order entry system (training available).
• Manage limited pharmacy staffing during weekdays, with no weekend coverage required.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to 3 pharmacy technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Florida Pharmacist and Consultant licenses are mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy management experience in an inpatient setting.
• Proficiency or willingness to train on CPSI order entry and Omnicell automation systems.
• Experience with sterile compounding and TJC accreditation processes.
• Strong regulatory, compliance, and leadership skills.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
• Training begins April 1st; official PIC start date April 6th until permanent hire.

This role requires a candidate ideally local to the area or willing to travel. The nearest airports are Fort Myers and Palm Beach, with accommodations such as the Hampton Inn nearby. Standard business attire is expected.
