A newly established independent retail pharmacy in Hattiesburg, MS, is urgently seeking a dedicated Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to oversee operations and help launch their services promptly. This position offers flexibility for local candidates or those willing to travel, with part-time availability starting at 20 hours per week and full-time hours preferred to ensure smooth functioning.
Location:
- Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily retail pharmacy operations to maintain high standards of service
- Serve as the designated Pharmacist In Charge, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Manage, review, and accurately fill prescriptions
- Facilitate an efficient workflow in collaboration with pharmacy staff, including a skilled pharmacy technician
- Support patient care activities in alignment with pharmacy policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Mississippi Pharmacist License (must be registered on the pharmacy license)
- Comfortable managing pain medications, as the pharmacy serves a pain clinic with an average of 140 patients daily
- Strong professional, reliable, and friendly demeanor
- Management experience is not required—training and support will be provided
- Ability to handle a high-volume prescription load of approximately 1,500–2,000 per month
- Experience with pharmacy software systems, preferably DRX or similar, is advantageous

- The pharmacy currently operates with 1 pharmacist and 1 pharmacy technician, with plans to expand the team as volume increases
