A senior leadership role is available for a skilled Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director at a specialized 503A Compounding Pharmacy located in Philadelphia, PA. This position involves full regulatory and operational accountability for all prescription fulfillment and compounding activities, ensuring compliance with state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards.
The individual in this role will direct all facets of pharmacy operations, including sterile and non-sterile compounding, quality assurance, environmental monitoring, personnel training, and maintaining a facility that meets all regulatory readiness standards. This role serves as the legally designated PIC across multiple state pharmacy licenses and acts as the main liaison for regulatory agencies and inspectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the official PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses unless otherwise designated
- Leading communication and compliance with Boards of Pharmacy and other regulatory bodies
- Monitoring and reporting operational changes, ownership adjustments, and facility modifications
- Supervising pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff
- Managing daily batch record processes and ensuring thorough review and approval
- Supporting production scheduling to enable timely delivery and accurate inventory management
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with flexibility required on Saturdays as needed.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Minimum of 5 years as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager
- Comprehensive knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, as well as relevant state and federal regulations for 503A compounding operations
- Proven experience leading audits and successfully managing regulatory inspections
