Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – Part-Time Contract Opportunity

An Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, is seeking a qualified Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to manage pharmacy operations on a part-time, contract basis. This role offers a unique chance to oversee critical pharmacy functions within an opioid treatment setting, supporting patient care with minimal direct interaction. The position is structured as a 1-year contract with potential for extension or transition to permanent employment.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
  • 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • 20 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Perform chart reviews and maintain accurate, detailed documentation
  • Verify prescriptions and fill them when pharmacy technician support is not available
  • Complete internal reports and forms efficiently, utilizing Microsoft Excel
  • Work independently during limited technician support periods
  • Minimal direct patient interaction unless requested
  • No billing or insurance processing responsibilities

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
  • 3–5 years of pharmacy experience
  • Substance abuse or opioid treatment experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with data entry and reporting
  • Strong ability to work independently with accountability and attention to detail

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
