An expanding specialty pharmacy is seeking a seasoned Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy facility in Lancaster, PA. This full-time, onsite role offers a unique opportunity to shape and direct pharmacy operations from inception through licensure, inspection readiness, and operational startup. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania licensure and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Lead pharmacy licensing processes, regulatory submissions, and Board of Pharmacy inspection preparedness
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA regulations
  • Support operational setup including workflow design, compliance frameworks, and quality management
  • Oversee dispensing accuracy, safety protocols, and regulatory adherence post-launch
  • Maintain audit readiness and serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections
  • Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to support pharmacy scaling and potential multi-state licensing

Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
  • Proven experience as a PIC or in a pharmacy leadership role
  • Strong background in pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
  • Familiarity with audits, inspections, or pharmacy startup environments
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
