An expanding specialty pharmacy is seeking a seasoned Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy facility in Lancaster, PA. This full-time, onsite role offers a unique opportunity to shape and direct pharmacy operations from inception through licensure, inspection readiness, and operational startup. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania licensure and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
- Lead pharmacy licensing processes, regulatory submissions, and Board of Pharmacy inspection preparedness
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies
- Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA regulations
- Support operational setup including workflow design, compliance frameworks, and quality management
- Oversee dispensing accuracy, safety protocols, and regulatory adherence post-launch
- Maintain audit readiness and serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections
- Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to support pharmacy scaling and potential multi-state licensing
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
- Proven experience as a PIC or in a pharmacy leadership role
- Strong background in pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy settings preferred
- In-depth knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations
- Familiarity with audits, inspections, or pharmacy startup environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
