An expanding specialty pharmacy seeks an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy in Lancaster, PA. This full-time, onsite role offers a unique chance to shape pharmacy operations from inception, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence through licensure, inspection readiness, and active dispensing phases. The position starts mid-June and follows a temp-to-hire pathway with long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and ongoing compliance
- Lead pharmacy licensing processes, regulatory filings, and Board of Pharmacy inspection readiness
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies aligned with state and federal regulations, including DEA requirements
- Design and support operational workflows and quality systems during setup and post-launch
- Oversee dispensing accuracy, safety standards, and ongoing regulatory adherence
- Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison during inspections
- Collaborate with leadership to scale operations and potentially assist with multi-state licensing expansion
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required)
- Proven experience as a PIC or leadership role within pharmacy operations
- Solid understanding of pharmacy regulatory requirements and compliance standards
- Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred
- Experience in audits, inspections, or pharmacy startups highly beneficial
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
