A key leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) to spearhead the licensure and operational launch of a specialty hormone replacement therapy (HRT) pharmacy located in Lancaster, PA. This mail-order pharmacy is currently in build-out, preparing to transition significant patient volume from a partner location to its new in-house operations. The position offers a contract-to-hire arrangement with a path to permanent employment.

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania (499 Running Pump Rd, Unit 109)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy licensure application process as the named PIC, including preparation, submission, and inspection readiness.
  • Collaborate with facility management during build-out to ensure compliance with all regulatory and physical requirements.
  • Author and implement all pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and protocols pre-launch.
  • Oversee pharmacy operations post-launch, including dispensing, mail-order fulfillment, and quality assurance.
  • Manage DEA registration process and ensure controlled substance compliance.
  • Maintain audit readiness and serve as the primary regulatory contact.
  • Recruit, train, and manage pharmacy support staff as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing (no disciplinary actions).
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Minimum three years of pharmacist experience, with prior PIC or licensing leadership preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing new pharmacy launches and navigating board inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of DEA compliance and controlled substance regulations.
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy, particularly hormone replacement therapies and mail-order fulfillment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable in a pre-operational, build-out environment.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain licensing in additional states is highly preferred.
