A leadership opportunity is available for a seasoned pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge at a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy in Richmond, Kentucky. This direct hire role demands a reliable, experienced professional to maintain high standards in compliance, staff management, and patient care within a busy pharmacy handling approximately 600 prescriptions daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, counseling, and patient care services.
- Keep accurate records of pharmacy transactions and inventory, including controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies for safe, efficient pharmacy functioning.
- Lead and support pharmacy team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to pharmacy staff.
- Oversee inventory management to balance stock levels and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurers to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly with excellent service.
- Monitor industry trends and regulations, ensuring pharmacy practices are updated accordingly.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and regular audits to maintain compliance and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license.
- 2-4 years of long-term care pharmacy experience.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably within LTC.
- Strong reliability and attendance are critical for success in this role.
- Familiarity with Frameworks software is a plus; training is available.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, day shift.
- Occasional evenings and weekends if needed.
