A direct hire opportunity is available for a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge to lead pharmacy operations in a closed-door LTC facility. Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, Day Shift
- Evening and weekend coverage only if needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing and patient counseling
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substance dispensing
- Develop and implement policies to ensure efficient and safe pharmacy function
- Lead and support pharmacy staff, including conducting evaluations and providing training
- Manage medication inventory levels in collaboration with the inventory manager
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication issues
- Address customer inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and implement necessary updates
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular audits and inspections
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment following infection control protocols
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active KY Pharmacist license (clear and in good standing)
- 2-4 years of long-term care pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Recent pharmacy management experience required, ideally in an LTC setting
- Strong reliability and attendance are critical for success in this role
Software: Experience with Frameworks preferred; training available
