A direct hire opportunity is available for a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge to lead pharmacy operations in a closed-door LTC facility. This role requires strong leadership, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining compliance and high standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will bring recent management experience, particularly within long-term care settings, and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to attendance and dependability.

Location: Richmond, KY
Start Date: ASAP
Facility Type: Closed door, Long-Term Care (LTC)
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, Day Shift
  • Evening and weekend coverage only if needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing and patient counseling
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substance dispensing
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure efficient and safe pharmacy function
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff, including conducting evaluations and providing training
  • Manage medication inventory levels in collaboration with the inventory manager
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication issues
  • Address customer inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and implement necessary updates
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct regular audits and inspections
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment following infection control protocols

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active KY Pharmacist license (clear and in good standing)
  • 2-4 years of long-term care pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • Recent pharmacy management experience required, ideally in an LTC setting
  • Strong reliability and attendance are critical for success in this role

Software: Experience with Frameworks preferred; training available
