Pharmacist in Charge - Roanoke, VA

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Pharmacist In Charge to lead a newly opened long-term care (LTC) pharmacy site in the Virginia/North Carolina region. This start-up site supports a full team of pharmacists, technicians, and administrative staff to provide 24/7 service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with company policies, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives and implement policies and procedures.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and appropriateness.
• Manage inventory control, medication preparation, and proper labeling.
• Maintain visibility on the pharmacy floor by actively supporting staff and operational needs.

Location: Roanoke, VA area (Candidates outside Roanoke encouraged to apply, as the client seeks talent beyond this city)

Schedule:

• Shifts currently include 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, with third shift hours pending.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of LTC pharmacy experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Valid Virginia pharmacist license in-hand (required for site opening).
• Proven experience as a Pharmacist In Charge or similar role.
• Strong operational knowledge especially related to LTC pharmacy settings.
• Skilled in pharmacy software including Frameworks/DocuTrack and MS Office.
• Excellent communication, team-building, and motivational skills.
• Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology.
• Ability to ensure quality and compliance while maintaining a hands-on leadership style.
