A multi-licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available at a closed-door mail order pharmacy located in the Rockville, MD area. This position offers a part-time schedule working Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 AM to 3 PM, with potential to add a third day in the future. The role is ongoing with an expected duration of 13+ weeks.

Location: Rockville, MD (worksite is a closed-door mail order pharmacy in Gaithersburg, MD)

Schedule/Hours:

  • Part-Time, 16-24 hours per week
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7 AM – 3 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations as the PIC within a long-term care and mail order pharmacy setting, upholding compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow efficiency and precision in medication dispensing.
  • Review, verify, and approve prescriptions and medication orders to guarantee safe and effective therapy for long-term care patients.
  • Manage quality assurance programs, controlled substance compliance, policy adherence, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, facility staff, and nursing teams to promote optimal patient care and medication management.
  • Support sterile compounding and cleanroom operations if experienced and comfortable in IV/compounding environments.

Qualifications:

  • Active Maryland Pharmacist License plus current licensure in AL, AR, CA, LA, NE, OK, OR, TX (candidates with most licenses will also be considered).
  • Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Management experience.
  • At least 2 years of recent Long-Term Care or Mail Order pharmacy experience.
  • Sterile compounding experience is a plus but not required.
  • Immediate availability preferred.
