A multi-licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) role is available in a closed-door mail order pharmacy setting. This position offers part-time hours, working Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 AM to 3 PM, with potential to add a third day in the future. The role spans 13+ weeks with ongoing potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily pharmacy operations as the PIC, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations within a long-term care pharmacy environment.
  • Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, promoting efficient workflow and accuracy in medication dispensing.
  • Review, verify, and approve prescriptions, ensuring safe and appropriate therapies for patients.
  • Maintain quality assurance programs, manage controlled substance compliance, implement policies, and uphold documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with facility staff, healthcare providers, and nursing teams to support medication management and timely delivery.
  • Assist with sterile compounding and clean room operations if experienced and comfortable in IV/compounding environments.

Qualifications:

  • Active Maryland pharmacist license plus most of the following: AL, AR, CA, LA, NE, OK, OR, TX (candidates with the majority of these are encouraged to apply).
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience.
  • At least 2 years of recent long-term care or mail order pharmacy experience.
  • Sterile compounding experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Availability to start as soon as possible.

Location:

  • This role is based in Rockville, MD, supporting a pharmacy operation in Gaithersburg, MD.
