This opportunity calls for an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee and manage pharmacy operations with a focus on sterile compounding and clinical pharmacy services. This position offers a direct hire option with the possibility of contract to hire, located in Starke, FL.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Team Composition:

  • Staff onsite
  • 2 full-time pharmacy technicians
  • 2 full-time pharmacists
  • 1 weekend pharmacist

Typical volume includes approximately 100 prescriptions per day with 15-20 chemotherapy preparations daily.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing
  • 3-5 years of experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding adhering to USP <797> and USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and State Board regulations
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Proven experience in sterile compounding environments with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Pharmacy management experience is essential
  • Preference for 3-5 years of recent experience in home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy settings

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders
  • Perform and oversee sterile compounding ensuring strict compliance with USP <797> and USP <800>
  • Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations
  • Review medication profiles for safety parameters including allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses
  • Supervise, mentor, and train pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
  • Maintain cleanroom aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring standards
  • Manage quality assurance, medication safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee inventory management, controlled substances, and daily pharmacy operations
  • Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs
  • Lead staff meetings and ensure adherence to all regulatory and company compliance standards, including OSHA, DEA, and State Board guidelines
  • Enforce safety regulations including proper use of personal protective equipment at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
