Join a dynamic specialty pharmacy leadership opportunity designed for a licensed Pharmacist-in-Charge ready to make a difference. This direct hire role centers on launching a brand-new specialty pharmacy in Lufkin, TX, supported by a specialty pharmacy management group that partners with clinics to optimize the delivery of specialty medications. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the pharmacy’s build-out, regulatory compliance, and daily operations, ensuring outstanding patient outcomes in partnership with healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) with full accountability for licensure, regulatory compliance, and controlled substances oversight.
- Lead the opening and operational setup of the specialty pharmacy, including onboarding insurance contracts and managing accreditation processes.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, implement policies, and maintain adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate closely with specialty clinics, supporting medication access through benefits investigation, prior authorization, and patient counseling.
- Manage inventory, quality assurance, and pharmacy workflows from prescription receipt to dispensing.
- Participate in strategic growth initiatives and serve as a clinical pharmacy expert within the organization.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Texas pharmacist license with eligibility to serve as PIC.
- Prior Pharmacy Manager or PIC experience strongly preferred, specifically within outpatient/retail specialty pharmacy settings.
- In-depth knowledge of specialty medications, pharmacy software (QS1, PioneerRx, etc.), and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with providers, and compose professional appeal letters.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment and adaptable to developing new workflows.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree required.
