An established compounding pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and operational oversight at their onsite facility in Albany, Ohio. This leadership role offers long-term stability, professional growth, and the chance to impact regulatory strategy and quality systems in a recognized environment. The position is direct hire with an option for a temp-to-perm transition, especially welcoming candidates open to relocation—with assistance provided.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Onsite in Albany, Ohio

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Ohio and additional non-resident state licenses as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to FDA, DEA, State Boards of Pharmacy, and Section 503B regulations.
  • Maintain pharmacist licensure and facility compliance across multiple states.
  • Lead and represent the facility during Board of Pharmacy, FDA, and DEA inspections.
  • Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and training programs.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, recalls, complaints, and quality-related investigations.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Manage QA/QC activities including batch record review, deviations, investigations, and environmental monitoring.
  • Oversee validation of equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Approve change controls, product labeling, and annual product reviews.
  • Manage vendor qualification and reserve sample programs.
  • Analyze quality metrics and present findings to site and corporate leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or PharmD required.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in pharmacy operations.
  • Strong expertise with cGMP, FDA and DEA regulations, sterile injectable manufacturing, and non-sterile compounding.
  • Proven track record in leading inspections and regulatory audits.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting complex information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience holding multi-state licensure preferred.
  • Preferred: 10+ years in pharma/biotech/medical device sectors with 7+ years in quality or compliance leadership roles.
