Pharmacist in Charge in West Chester, PA

A unique opportunity is available for an Interim Staff Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a small inpatient micro-hospital. This role offers the chance to lead pharmacy operations in a 10-bed emergency department and 10 licensed inpatient beds, providing essential pharmacy services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Location: West Grove, PA
Job Type: Contract (May 18 – June 30, with possibility of extension)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts
On-call: Required, though calls are infrequent

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume full Pharmacist in Charge responsibilities overseeing daily pharmacy operations
• Conduct audits and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Manage medication restocking and maintain inventory accuracy
• Utilize Cerner for order entry and Omnicell automation for medication dispensing
• Operate independently as the sole pharmacist on site; support from remote PIC and Pharmacy Director provided through remote training

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license required
• Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage PIC duties autonomously in a small hospital setting
• Familiarity with Cerner order entry system and Omnicell automated dispensing preferred
• Strong organizational and audit skills essential
