Pharmacist in Charge in Whittier, CA

A full-time Pharmacy Supervisor position is available in an onsite animal health compounding pharmacy setting in Bakersfield, CA. This role focuses on leading a team of pharmacists engaged in producing high-quality compounded preparations that support animal health. The supervisor will oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards while promoting continuous improvement within the compounding team.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of pharmacists to meet productivity and quality expectations
• Support and streamline daily compounding operations and workflow
• Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, as well as relevant state and federal regulations
• Maintain accurate training records and enforce proper compounding protocols
• Assist in drug selection for both dispensing and compounded preparations
• Identify opportunities for process and formulation improvements
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and other departments to achieve operational goals
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold company policies

Qualifications:

• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Minimum 2 years of managing staff in a pharmacy lab environment
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on compounding experience
• In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000 plus performance-based bonuses. Eligible candidates may also have access to comprehensive benefits.
