Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Wichita Falls, Texas

This position offers an opportunity to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a closed-door pharmacy embedded within a behavioral health hospital setting in Wichita Falls, TX. The pharmacy operates under a contract to support the hospital’s medication needs, specializing exclusively in behavioral health medications without vaccine administration. This role is local only and available on a contract-to-hire basis, requiring immediate availability due to the current PIC transitioning out by March 6th.

The pharmacy utilizes Enterprise RX software and follows efficient workflows combined with automation to handle a daily script volume of 350-400 prescriptions. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The environment blends walk-in clinic support with outbound prescription fulfillment, similar to a long-term care model, staffed by one PIC, one staff pharmacist, and four pharmacy technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all pharmacy operations as Pharmacist in Charge
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies
• Manage dispensing of behavioral health medications exclusively
• Collaborate with hospital staff to support medication management needs
• Supervise pharmacy team and workflow to maintain accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in Texas (required)
• Minimum of 1+ year of PIC or pharmacy management experience
• At least 2 years of pharmacist experience; retail pharmacy experience is acceptable
• Familiarity with Enterprise RX software is preferred
