Pharmacist in Indianapolis, IN

A well-established mail order pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join their Indianapolis location in a temp-to-hire role. This position offers a closed-door, fast-paced environment focused on providing exceptional pharmaceutical care and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Schedule and Location:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Possible Saturdays on an as-needed basis
• Located in Indianapolis, IN
• Contract duration: 13 weeks with potential for direct hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense medications based on prescription orders
• Provide clear medication counseling and educate patients on proper use, side effects, and drug interactions
• Review physician orders to confirm accuracy and appropriateness of therapies
• Monitor patient drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and encourage medication adherence
• Maintain up-to-date patient records including medication histories and allergies
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
• Manage medication storage and inventory, including ordering and monitoring for expired products
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement programs
• Deliver excellent customer service while addressing inquiries and resolving any issues
• Maintain professional development and stay current on pharmacy practice advancements

Qualifications and Experience:

• PharmD degree required
• Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory
• 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• California license preferred or willingness to pursue reciprocity (financial assistance available)
• Ability to travel up to 5%
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
