A pharmacist position is available in a closed-door mail order environment located in Indianapolis, IN. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering daytime shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with possible Saturdays based on operational needs. The assignment is expected to last a minimum of 13 weeks, with the potential for direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately according to prescription orders.
  • Provide thorough medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper use, side effects, and interactions.
  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure therapy accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and improve medication adherence.
  • Maintain precise patient records including medication histories and allergies.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Manage proper storage and handling of medications, monitoring for expired or damaged stock.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with pharmacy practices.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • PharmD degree required.
  • Indiana Pharmacy License required.
  • California Pharmacy License preferred, or willingness to reciprocate with client support for costs.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.
