A pharmacist position is available in a closed-door mail order environment located in Indianapolis, IN. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering daytime shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with possible Saturdays based on operational needs. The assignment is expected to last a minimum of 13 weeks, with the potential for direct hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately according to prescription orders.
- Provide thorough medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper use, side effects, and interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure therapy accuracy and appropriateness.
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and improve medication adherence.
- Maintain precise patient records including medication histories and allergies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Manage proper storage and handling of medications, monitoring for expired or damaged stock.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with pharmacy practices.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License required.
- California Pharmacy License preferred, or willingness to reciprocate with client support for costs.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 5%.
